Our family-friendly pub has a spacious restaurant and plenty of character, making it the perfect place to enjoy anything from a light lunch or drink with friends to an evening meal or one of our famous Sunday roasts.
Conveniently situated on the A47 between King's Lynn and Swaffham, we're ideally placed for locals and for those travelling to and from the Norfolk coast.

Lucky find
We were travelling to Swaffham and looking for somewhere to have a light lunch. What a lucky find. Good choice of sandwiches, ploughmans etc. Full lunch menu also.
Judging by the food whizzing past us looked delicious. The whole place is well presented and clean everywhere. Recommend the ploughmans tasty cheese with warm crusty roll and a huge salad. Excellent throughout.
An excellent place to eat on the way to and from Norwich
This pub was a good find. Very good quality home cooked food. Found nothing of this standard for miles.
They can handle different dietary restrictions with ease, and our Gluten Free requirement caused no problems whatsoever. Eaten here many times now and its always good.
Excellent food, service, value and atmosphere
The menu is extensive and varied with either 'Off-Board' choices from 3 Specials boards, one of which offers 2 courses - starter/main - main/desert for a very reasonable price', or from the again extensively varied 'Bar Menu'.
Good portion size too. On my last visit, I had the Pan Fried Cod on a bed of Spicy Bean Stew, topped with Bacon, which was delicious.
Sunday Roast Ummmm . . .
Sunday Roast tastes just like Mums. Enormous yorkshire pudding and loads of lovely tasty gravy. Vegetables were cooked perfectly with plenty of them and good choice of roast meats - Lamb, Turkey & Beef. Everything homemade and you can taste it too.
Lovely atmosphere with real fire and friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble which makes a very refreshing change. Will definitely call again when visiting Kings Lynn.
Super Meal
Just ate at The Carpenters Arms. My tuna steak was fabulous and my partner’s steak was cooked to perfection. Absolutely lovely meal served by an extremely nice waitress called Mary. Our thanks to the chef.
Saturday evening get together
Second visit to the carpenters arms. Booked for 6.45 .not many people when we arrived. Ordered meals and while we were waiting a lot more people arrived. It became very busy. Meals arrived quickly, all different all very good.
Cannot fault
Great place to eat or just go for a drink or coffee. Portions are generous, food is spot on. Staff very good and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended!
Table for two
My hubby and I visited yesterday lunchtime, they were quite busy but service was good. I ordered the burger and hubby had sausages and mash. The meals were both delicious and all was eaten, the meat used was clearly of good quality.
Best Pub & Restaurant in Norfolk 5*****
Saturday evening,advised to book early, did so and can understand why, Soon filled up and that is a good sign. Shown to the dining room, tables and decor set very nice, waiting staff in matching color attire. Menu’s presented by a very charming, polite, helpful member of staff as ALL the staff were.
The meal came, every dish was freshly cooked served hot and on hot plates, The five of us in the party could not fault the service, the staff, the decor or the quality of the food served.
The waitress had all the time in the world for us and with a smile also the owner/manageress had time to ask if everything was satisfactory. What a pleasure to dine out and be treated like a customer, absolutely top marks all round to all of the staff not to forget the team out the back at The The Carpenters Arms. Should be the Pub Grub of The Year. Will definitely be back for this one. Thank you so much.

This is the sort of place that if what you wanted was not in the Bar menu (and that’s almost a book in itself), or on the boards, then they would do their best to accommodate the request. The bar and restaurant are a big size and could easily cater for a large party; there is also bar seating and some easy chairs to relax and watch the widescreen TV too.
Being positioned on the A47 just outside East Winch village, it’s ideal if you are traveling toward the East Coast or west toward King’s Lynn and onward to the Midlands/North.
Fantastic Restaurant
Visited this restaurant twice over Easter weekend while away with a group of friends. The welcoming was really friendly, staff are very pleasant and keen to help. The food is fabulous and there is masses of it!
The waiting staff are so helpful. When one of our party was taken aback by the amount of food on his plate the waitress rushed over to see what was wrong. We did have a slight problem with some over cooked chicken but the plate was taken away and replaced without so much as a raised eyebrow and the waitress was very apologetic.
Prices are very competitive so it is a great bet for a reasonably priced night out, especially as it is probably impossible to eat more than two courses. The Carpenters Arms helped us to have a brilliant weekend – thank you to all the staff..

Our friendly bar is the perfect place to meet with friends, enjoy a drink or simply relax. We offer a good selection of draught and bottled beers, real ales, wines, spirits and soft drinks, with comfortable seating throughout.
